Council Appoints new General Manager

Carrathool Shire Council has appointed a new General Manager.

Council is pleased to advise that Mr Ken Croskell has been offered and has accepted the position as General Manager of Carrathool Shire Council.  Ken is currently the General Manager of Bourke Shire Council and will commence duties with Carrathool Shire on 2 July 2007.

Ken has extensive experience in local government and has undertaken chief executive roles for the past 20 years.

Mayor Cr Peter Laird stated,  “In the current climate Council requires its General Manager to have vision, strong leadership qualities and the ability to strategically plan in order to meet the challenges that rural Councils with limited resources continue to face in the current political and economic climate.  I am confident that Ken will bring these qualities to Carrathool to ensure that this Council remains a viable and sustainable entity with the ability to provide its communities with cost effective works and services and improve quality of life for its residents".

Acting General Manager Ray Pluis added, "Council and staff are looking forward to working with Mr Ken Croskell to achieve desired outcomes".

Ken Croskell said, “I am very pleased with my appointment and look forward to moving to the Shire and working closely  with the Council, the Community and the staff”.
