Compulsory Water Restrictions
Goolgowi Raw & Rankins Springs
Residents are advised that the following water restrictions continue to apply to the Rankins Springs and Goolgowi raw water supplies.
Garden/Lawn Watering: 1 sprinkler from 6 am – 8 am & 6 pm – 8pm daily (Eastern Daylight Saving time)
Swimming Pools/Spas: No restrictions on existing pools/spas; new pools/spas require Council approval before filling.
Water Tanks: Water tanks are not to be filled or topped up from the raw water supply.
Fountains: A fountain which does not recycle water must not be operated.
Ponds/lakes: Not permitted to be filled or topped up.
Mobile water tankers: Only permitted to be filled when supplying water for a use inside a dwelling not supplied from a reticulated water supply; for dwelling construction; for approved road construction and maintenance works; for fire fighting; or, for stock watering purposes.
Motor vehicles: Vehicles can only be washed on lawns/grassed areas using a trigger nozzle or a pressure sprayer
Paved areas Water must not be used to clean a paved area unless it is necessary to do so as a result of an accident; fire, hazard to health or the environment; or, other emergency.
